Introducing Powertracer
Energy Locals has teamed up with Enosi to offer a unique community energy program. The Enosi Powertracer software enables you to buy or sell excess solar generation to other members of the community at prices set by the members themselves.
We believe in a world in which customers can generate solar power and share it with their neighbours or indeed anyone in their State.
Go beyond the traditional feed-in-tariff
Powertracer enables trades to be set up between users at prices they agree. Every 30 minutes Enosi’s Powertracer software determines the volume of energy matched between buyers and sellers. Any excess solar energy is simply sold at Energy Locals standard feed-in rates.
Cheaper, cleaner energy
Communities all over Australia are starting to trade excess solar rooftop energy at rates they set themselves. The next step is to bring cheaper solar and wind farm energy into the mix. Enosi’s Powertracer platform matches solar and wind farm energy with household and business demand, reducing electricity costs and increasing clean energy consumption.
Included in this plan:
- Join an energy trading community
- Test a ground-breaking, democratic way to buy and sell electricity
- Choose to trade directly with family friends or businesses that you nominate
- Sell or even donate your excess solar to other community members at prices you set
- If you don’t have solar, you can buy from other members of the community
- Default usage is charged at Energy Locals' wholesale prices
- No exit fees or lock-in contracts
- Trades are settled through your monthly Energy Locals bill
- Solar and wind farm energy to be offered soon
- You won’t pay more to use the Enosi service
- In order to be on the Powertracer platform you’ll need to be on the Energy Locals Local Member plan
- Nominated trades on Powertracer must be accepted by both parties
- Energy Locals’ normal rates and feed-in-tariffs will apply when there are no available trading partners for your excess solar energy
- Fixed energy transportation & regulated environmental charges will be added to all trades. These are standard costs that can't be avoided until the energy market rules change
- Traded energy is bought/sold at the same time - electricity cannot be stored and traded later
